Make Music Matter

ABBA The Museum has recently established a unique collaboration with Make Music Matter!, a national school project, run by Linnaeus University, focused on music, dreams, entrepreneurship, creativity and digitization. The theme of this year’s Make Music Matter!, which will continue until year-end 2020, is “I have a dream – a song to sing.” Also participating in the collaboration are the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKL) and the Academy of Music & Business (AMB) and the cloud music studio Soundtrap – A Spotify Company.

Using digital tools, schools across Sweden can take part and make music by writing their own verses to ABBA’s “I Have A Dream.” A significant part of Swedish music history is covered in the pop saga ABBA project and all members of ABBA have given their approval for schools to start working with the song. UNICEF’s collaboration with Make Music Matter! includes material and knowledge about the CRC.

“Taking part in the school project Make Music Matter! is a natural step for those of us at the museum. Through the project, we can pass on the history of ABBA and their musical legacy to the next generation. With knowledge, engagement and passion, ABBA The Museum is delighted to be contributing to a project that will enable school children to be inspired, motivated and educated in Swedish popular music history,” says Caroline Fagerlind, Museum Director at ABBA The Museum.
